Doodle-A-Day 258-260

Felt like giving my imagination a little bit of a workout with these ones.  So, as I usually do when I want to do that, I decided to draw some creatures.   It was good fun.  No reference, just my imagination and my pencil.  My goal with these ones was to try and create some idea of intelligence, as opposed to my usual dumb beasties.

Doodle-A-Day 251-257

Wow, I can't believe I went a whole week!  I don't even really have an excuse.  I just... kind of forgot?  Which is weird as I've been doing this for 257 days now... hmm.  Oh well.  Here's 7 doodles.  I actually think these are better quality than my usual make up doodles.

I was kind of dissatisfied with the drawing of my friend Colt that I did for his birthday so I asked him to send me a new picture to draw.  He gave me three pictures and in a fit of indecision, I decided to draw all three.

This next one is an Herrerasaurus.  Despite the fact that it's pretty simple and quick, I think it's one of the better dinosaur drawings I've ever done.

Some sketchy guy running.

Some cartoon bear beings startled awake.

And some sort of monster reading.  I like this one a lot for some reason.  I like that he's wearing a suit but no pants.

Doodle-A-Day 246-250

Sorry about the delay on this one.  I was working on finishing the latest episode of the webseries I animate for.  (Link: here)  After that I needed a few days to come back to reality.  But here are five doodles.

I've had a crush on Kristen Bell ever since Veronica Mars but I've never sketched her until now.  I also wanted to try out that digital highlighting technique I used on the Sarah drawing from last week.

In honor of the FANTASTIC finale of Series 2 of Sherlock that aired yesterday, I present an admittedly rather sloppy doodle of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock.

Next are two ink sketches of some sort of troodontid.

And finally a drawing of my favorite tree, covered in snow.

Doodle-A-Day 245

Today I did a drawing of my best friend Sarah!

I borrowed this highlighting technique from Girl-on-the-Moon, an artist I discovered while looking at Doctor Who fanart. Check out her stuff, she's really good!

Doodle-A-Day 244

Today's doodle is another ink/digital color drawing of my friend Kris with a santa hat and robot arm.  Again... don't ask.

Also, as an extra bonus and because I am currently obsessed with coloring things digitally, here is a colored version of Doodle #225, the Acrocanthosaurus head.  I'm pretty proud of this, actually.  I encourage you to look at it full size.

Doodle-A-Day 243

Look!  A doodle!  This one is kind of strange... it is a doodle of one of my friends.  He and a few of my other friends will understand it.  Everyone else... umm... I think the light looks cool.

Doodle-A-Day 235-242

Wow.  8 whole days.  A new record.  Never gone two days over my limit before.  You'd think it would be easier for me to get doodles done when I'm on break... apparently not.  Interesting.  I will try to get a doodle up a day for at the very least the next couple of days.

I regret to say that a lot of these are less technical drawings and more quick sketches.
